It's rare nowadays but today, at 9:54am, I blushed.
It was 9:53 when I said to my female colleague: "You could take me home to bed if you like".
For the record, said colleague studies at the university around the corner from Magnolia Mansions (Home of Ro), and the question I was answering was: "I have to pop up to the university quickly. Do you need a lift up there for any reason?"
And all of this was at the tail-end of a conversation that had begun with her asking if I was okay, to which I'd replied that I was rather tired.
It makes sense, you see, as a tongue-in-cheek response, but I could definitely have worded it more carefully, to emphasise for example that I was interested in going to my bed, alone, for the sole purpose of sleep. Unless The Beloved was offering anyway.
It could have been worse though, I guess: I could have been having the conversation with a male colleague.

Oooops ;-) I'm reminded of one time at university when I was dipping Hob Nob biscuits into hot chocolate (well, what else?) and my rather unfortunate, but nevertheless enthusiastic comment was, "I've never had a Hot Nob before."
LOL. Don't worry I once walked up to a male friend who had recently had a new baby. I looked into the buggy and said. " My haven't you got a big one ".

Diamondlight and Kerrie ... Good stories! Perhaps I should share another little verbal blip of mine ... such as the time when I was sitting with three young ladies (two of whom were very polite and genteel) and, while aiming to talk about my "stonking great overdraft", proclaimed that I had a "stonking great erection" instead ~blush~
Can anyone beat that??
